This Hampton is currently in our shop undergoing restoration. She is all wood construction and maintains her original layout and materials. All indications point to this not being a factory-built boat (Serio Boatyard), which constructed most of the Hamptons for the Hampton Yacht Club and other clubs around Chesapeake Bay and her tributaries. This is likely a kit boat, or was constructed from plans.
According to the previous owner, she was built from either plans or a kit by a retired US Navy officer around 1965. The boat is said to have lived on Virginia's Lake Anna most of her life; the lake and communities around it were begun around 1972. It was acquired via estate sale from a lakeside home in complete, barn-find condition. Research on provenance is ongoing.
